Artist Statement:

Mena was born and raised in Addis Abeba, Ethiopia.  Mena found herself like many foreigners coming to America in search of a better life.  Her work depicts the very nature of what it means to dream.  Intertwining two worlds to create one, she has defied nature and weaved the impossible.  As a child she used her passion for art to escape to far away places, and through time began to connect to the world around her.  There are no limits to what medium she may dive into but acrylic, water color and paint pends tend to be her go to’s.  As a self taught artist she has beat the odds against her and is living proof that anything is possible.
