Artist Statement:

My name is Axel Lovelace.  I grew up in Edmonds, now raising a family in Mountlake Terrace. I’ve been a carpenter for 27 years and I’ve always had a passion for woodworking.  I’ve been focusing more on my creative side by using the knowledge I have, learning new techniques and playing with different materials. I find that using epoxy with different species of wood, you can achieve more complexity and depth to a piece of art. Most of the wood that I use has been “reclaimed” from different places around the sound from historic building restoration projects to cabinet shops to wooden boat yards.  I really enjoy making and sharing my art.
